At Taylor & Co we believe it’s about the little things, as well as the big things, that make a difference, whether it's our excellent customer service or our skills and experience. At Taylor & Co Hair Studio, we believe that the little things and the big things need to become part of your routine, day after day, until they become the normal things. The high standards you have set become the norm, and you continue to raise standards because your expectations are higher.
Some of this is about the unseen little things – for example, every client has a freshly laundered gown, and towels. There’s an abundant supply of brushes and combs which are always presented in a clean and hygienic condition. Visually, the high standard of housekeeping is apparent, as it should be in this fresh and appealing hair studio, where you receive excellent customer service, and high quality hairdressing services from well-qualified and experienced staff.
At Taylor & Co we listen, which means that during your consultation, the advice and aftercare that you receive is personal. Time is allocated generously to each client – appointments are not rushed. We have a wealth of experience - all our staff are well qualified. We like to treat our customers as we would wish to be treated. And we ensure that our clients are rewarded - with loyalty points, complementary refreshments and free wifi.
We have worked hard on all those big things and little things that happen in hair salons, and have achieved high levels of service that are now our norm. This is what our clients expect… and what we expect. We continue to look for more things to improve, and so the process of raising standards repeats itself. We are pushing the boundaries for better customer care, customer service and customer satisfaction.
Nigel is the man that put the 'Taylor' in Taylor & Co
Much to the surprise of his parents, teachers and friends, at the age of 15 Nigel decided to leave school. This was a quick decision. He took up an apprenticeship in hairdressing. This was the beginning of what turned out to be a very enjoyable and varied career.
At the age of 21 he opened his first salon in Birmingham and five years later, a second salon. Later he started working part-time at Solihull College while still working in the salons – the start of his six (sometimes seven) days a week working life. Over the next few years he moved to full time work at the college, continuing to work every Saturday in the salons.
In time, Nigel took up senior positions in the college. Then early in 2000 he finally gave up the salons in Birmingham, and in 2003 left further education, to go for a change of work-life balance, moving to the beautiful village of Lamphey.
Before long, he had opened Taylor & Co Hair Studio, bringing his vision of high quality service to this idyllic rural location. His links with the world of education continued, working for an awarding body firstly as an external verifier, and most recently as the Chief External Verifier for Hairdressing and Barbering, travelling the length of the UK and worldwide.
Nigel is proud to have created Taylor & Co Hair Studio, a smart and stylish salon. He has now retired from full time work but continues to work in the salon every Monday, supporting his team and continuing to develop the business.
